The Palm Jumeirah is a man-made island that stands 300 metres off the coast of Dubai in the Persian Gulf and takes its name from its palm tree shape. With a total of 61354289 square feet, it is a large space. The island features a trunk, 16 limbs, and a "crescent" that extends for 11 kilometres around the top, and is connected to the mainland by a bridge. The first houses on Palm Jumeirah were completed at the end of 2006. Construction on the island began in 2001.

So, a one-bedroom apartment in this area will set you back a minimum of AED 897 000 (about USD 245 000), compared to Downtown Dubai (AED 660 000; approximately USD 180 000), Business Bay (AED 525 000; approximately USD 143 000), and Dubai Marina (AED 480 000; approximately USD 131 000).
